Chillinji Pass Trek
The mountain of Hindukush enters Pakistan, step by step, out of the isolated hills of Afghanistan, and within this wilderness situated some of the most beautiful mountain valleys found and formed the boundaries of two fabled countries.
Chillinji Pass:
It is a high mountain pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It connects the Karambar valley in Ishkoman with the Chapursan river valley in Upper Hunza. Its elevation is marked as either 17,503 feet (5,335 m) or 17,360 feet (5,290 m). The pass is 6 miles to the north of Koz Sar Peak. To the west of the key is river Karambar, known as the Ishkoman River south of Imit, and joins the Ghizar River at Gahkuch to become the Gilgit River. The Chapursan River flows southeast and joins the Hunza River at Khudabad at Karakorum Highway east of the pass. Chillinji Pass is the closest natural path between the upper Gilgit and Hunza valleys.

Trek Description :
This trip takes you to the unspoiled and virgin lands of Wakhan Corridor, passing through small hamlets and mountain meadows. You'll meet flocks of people with their cattle and herds of sheep and goats. There are dozens of unclimbed and seldom-visited beautiful peaks in the range of 6000m. The area is a pollution-free, undisturbed, remote place.
Trekking Itinerary:
- Jeep drives to Mastuj Valley to the Wakhan Corridor.
- Trek starts for Shah Jinali Pass, following the Shah Jinali River on the Pamir Range.
- An unforgettable view of Hindu Kush and Pamir.
- Trek down to the Yaseen valley, following the Durkut valley to Assumber Pass to Chillinji Pass.
- Continue to Ziarat, Gulmit, Karimabad, Hunza.
Cultural Insights:
These inhabitants' religion is unclear, but they worship the wooden statues as Goddesses. They celebrate four festivals in four seasons: Spring–Summer-Autumn, and winter.

This incredible trek connects the Chilinji Pass, leading from Ishkoman Broghil and Wakhan Corridor into Chapursan Valley, upper Hunza. This trek has been restricted for recent centuries and remains one of Pakistan's most remote treks. It takes trekkers from the Ishkoman Valley to the Chapursan Ziarat, a journey through richly contrasting landscapes.
